....so many things in this still life make me want to try to paint them....a long held desire to paint plum colours with a plate’s blues....colours seen together so often and just marvelled at....the rhythm of a row of plums....the bloom so characteristic of plums luminous across the entire surface of each....the bloom echoing the plate’s palest radiant blues....the plate’s pattern echoing the plums’ curves....the plate’s glowing lustre and soft shadows....the plums’ deep intense colour....the plums’ soft roundness....the plate’s soft curves....a still life aesthetically composed....
